What we liked:
We enjoyed our stay at Forest Grove RV Resort so much. Here’s our top things about the park:
- Close to many attractions we wanted to visit.
- The Cafe has very good food at affordable prices we ate there a few times.
- The salt water/heated pool with slides! (see photos)
- Large, leveled sites with plenty of space for your vehicle.
- Everyone on staff was welcoming and kind—it really made a difference!
1. Forest Grove RV Resort is close to many attractions we wanted to visit
Forest Grove RV Resort is nestled in Dandridge, Tennessee, within easy travel distance of Douglas Lake and the Smoky Mountains National Park (which was the main reason for our trip). It’s also a great home base for visiting all the exciting events, attractions, and family fun in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
The RV Resort is still expanding, with a second phase underway that will include luxury RV sites, another bathhouse, and a second pool. Since it only opened in July 2024, it’s still somewhat of a hidden gem. Hopefully, we can help spread the word—because we truly loved our stay and can’t wait to see this resort continue to grow!
Getting to the RV Resort and Check-In
It’s an easy drive depending on where you’re coming from. We drove I-95, then I-64W, then moved on to I-81S and finally I-40W. We found that RV Life’s GPS guides you through a street with very clear signs stating NO RVs allowed on that road. The correct exit you should take is exit 412, Big Bird Ln. Not much difference in time.
We arrived, checked in at the campground office/store which is equipped with many of the things you might need or may have forgotten to bring (see photos). There’s a number you can text to check-in and check out which makes it very convenient if you rather do it that way, we opted for the human contact. We were greeted very nicely, got our info and proceeded to our spot.

2. The cafe/butcher shop and bar offers great food at affordable prices

3. The Amenities at Forest Grove RV Resort
This resort offers a wide range of amenities that are perfect for families. Inside the park, you’ll find a Café/Butcher Shop & Bar, a convenience store with a beer cave, and two fenced dog parks. The saltwater, heated pool with slides is a highlight—and right next to it, there’s a splash pad for the little ones to enjoy. You’ll also find a volleyball court, a covered basketball court, a covered cornhole area, an arcade, a playground, and a pavilion equipped with a grill. There’s even a catch-and-release fishing pond with a dock and a horseshoe pit for some laid-back fun.

4. Large and leveled RV sites
The RV Resort offers 40′ and 60′ sites. The amount of space between them is what you see in other parks. All sites are leveled concrete with gravel sides, they each have full hook ups, a picnic table and fire ring. We stayed at site 107A which is a corner site and there was plenty of space left to park our truck since our 5th wheel is 37 feet long. You’ll also find a “Y” splitter in the water hook up which we thought was a nice detail even though we have our own. The best thing is you make your choice of site when booking, free of charge!

5. The Friendly Staff
The entire staff at Forest Grove RV Resort was outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly courteous from the moment we arrived. They happily answered all of our questions with patience and professionalism, and we genuinely felt respected and well cared for throughout our stay. It’s clear that this team takes great pride in their work. You can tell they love what they do and are committed to creating a positive experience for every guest. Their hard work and upbeat attitude made a lasting impression and truly added to the overall atmosphere of the resort.
